The natural habitat for truth is in interpersonal relationships”

Talking to discern

There are many crossroads on the path of life: roads that lead us towards the unknown, full of surprises, beauty and dark moments too. Some bring their own challenges and invitations, and there are so many decisions to make. Sometimes, a time of crisis, a turning point, an inner turmoil awakens or rekindles in us the search for meaning that lay dormant beneath effervescence, silence or past well-being.
This quest to free ourselves, to (re)find ourselves, to take care of and fulfill ourselves, responds to the spiritual part of us, which can take on many colours. Whether one believes or not, is practising or not, lives within a rich tradition or feels un-rooted, the need to find one’s way, one’s voice, this quest for meaning – manifests itself more forcefully in some seasons of life. At such times, a person can wish to be accompanied.
There are no instructions, no magic formulas, no guarantees, no shortcuts or privileges in the face of the many forms of struggles, in the quest for inner integration and unification, in the face of the courage required to stay on one’s feet. But there are ancient wisdom and present companions. There are rich and true conversations. This companionship can prove invaluable.
